Get ready to get stuff done with Scanbot the smart way. Arriving today is one of the biggest Scanbot updates ever. We have added workflows, quick actions and a fresh design. All these brand-new features will assist you in scanning, organizing and sharing your documents even faster with Scanbot. Let’s dive right into the details:

WORKFLOWS

This is one of our most requested features and now it is live.  For each scan in the app you will see your most often used workflows directly under the document preview.

A simple tap on one or several of this options and Scanbot will perform the workflow for you. A tap on “More…” shows you the full list of sharing and cloud storage locations for your scan. We are very excited to have this implemented!

QUICK ACTIONS

If you have OCR enabled (requires the pro version of the app) Scanbot will extract the text content from the document which you have scanned. But now we go one big step further and, using our document intelligence technology, translate the extracted text into quick actions. This means if you for example scan a prescription from your doctor, containing his telephone number, address and homepage, Scanbot will create 3 actions:

Tapping on one of these will directly call the extracted number, open your navigation app with the address inserted as the endpoint of the route or open the webpage respectively. So all these actions are available with just a quick tap with your finger.

DESIGN

The new design will make it even more intuitive to operate Scanbot and you will subtly notice it everywhere. Overall the design is more streamlined and makes it easier to find the information you want. We implemented a major overhaul of the settings screen so that you can now quickly select the best setup for the tasks you want to accomplish.

Additionally, for our iOS users, we have also included MS OneNote and FTP support as cloud storage options.

As always this release also includes performance improvements, a lot of optimizations and we ironed out some small pesky bugs. Make sure you update Scanbot or download the best scanner app, Scanbot 4, on iTunes or Google Play now.
